See what the students at Miami Country Day are creating!
Solar
Solutions
Students will construct and test their own solar cookers as they collaborate
with fellow solar cooker enthusiasts from other countries. They will create
recipes, produce "infomercials", design website additions, and prepare
informative booklets to educate other students about the environmental benefits
of solar cooking in developing countries. A detailed description of the
project can be viewed at: www.miamicountryday.org/aces.
See webcasts of a fantastic student designed solar cooker and directions
on how to create your own box cooker. Go to the webcasts section of our website.
Students are actively engaged in constructing their own solar cookers, sketching out their designs, preparing food to be solar cooked, measuring temperatures in their solar cookers and listing ideas on how to improve their cookers.
Students
are involved in many solar cooking projects; especially the difficult job of
tasting the great food they've prepared in the solar ovens.
